A Comic Trance

She came around from a place not known
Beautiful she was and white as snow.
Her hair was a magic,
A beauty like a moonless dark,
Falling over her face,
Making me fall into a trance.
And lo!
What got hold of me were her eyes
Never had I seen anything as those,
Beautiful and sharp like the one she wore.
Her lips were red as cherry,
Unlike those tasted before,
Oh! How I felt an impulse,
To feel them as never before.
She was a beauty, a real one from all,
Unlike the ones I had seen in time before.

Gathering up courage
I walked over to her
Thinking of spending a day
Or maybe an evening with her.
With all my strength
I stood beside her,
Looking into her eyes
I asked her out,
With a smile on her face
She showed me the ring in her hand
And that’s when I realized,
She was engaged to another man!
